Santa
Clara University, a Jesuit university, offers its more than 8,000
students rigorous undergraduate curricula in arts and sciences,
business (Leavey School of Business), and engineering, plus
master's, Ph.D., and law degrees. Distinguished nationally by the
fourth-highest graduation rate among all U.S. master's
universities.
The
Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) was envisioned to
lead the extension of Santa Clara University’s into the study
and practice of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Center's
mission takes shape in three critical areas:
- Connect:
Strengthening community ties by cultivating an
opportunity-focused Venture Information Network,
- Educate:
Developing the entrepreneurial competence of students by
offering an interdisciplinary Entrepreneur Leadership Program.
- Launch:
Enabling the launch of new ventures by providing a Venture
Accelerator Program.
By fostering
an environment where innovation and entrepreneurship flourish,
Santa Clara produces graduates with a greater understanding and
control of the forces that drive the Silicon Valley, national and
global economies.
