TEN
(The Enterprise Network of Silicon Valley).
TEN - The
Enterprise Network of Silicon Valley - was founded by Joint
Venture: Silicon Valley Network in 1993 to support seed stage
startup companies and contribute to the Silicon Valley economy. At
the time, following the recession of the early 1990's, startups
were not being established in Silicon Valley at a rate that had
been experienced in the past. TEN was to develop an advisory and
mentoring service throughout Silicon Valley for entrepreneurs to
encourage and support them in starting companies, and thus give a
boost to the area economy.
In
2006 and the years ahead, there are two major directions that will
continue to shape TEN strategically, programmatically, and
organizationally. The first is the continued development of
business acceleration and regional knowledge clusters in Silicon
Valley. The vision is to form a network of resources that will
help drive regional innovation.
The
second major direction is to continue to form international
partnerships to build entrepreneurial bridges with Silicon Valley
and partners around the world. Our global vision is built around
the belief that the culture of Silicon Valley makes the region the
foremost area in the world for venture creation and launch. We
foresee the development of entrepreneurial bridges with all major
technology regions in the world to include Asia,
Europe, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the
Middle East, and
Russia/CIS.
